No more pothole repairs for Johannesburg

Johannesburg motorists will now have to report potholes directly to the Johannesburg Roads Agency (JRA), as the highly successful Dial Direct Pothole Brigade's pilot project has unfortunately ended.

The Brigade will however continue working in conjunction with the Gauteng provincial Department of Roads and Transport in the greater Johannesburg area on outlying main roads and will soon announce its new area of operations.

According to Bradley Du Chenne, senior executive of Dial Direct Insurance, "Our pilot-project with the JRA was a success and just under 35 000 potholes were repaired in and around Johannesburg. The JRA now has to formalise procedures and framework structures and is busy incorporating the repair of potholes into a tender process. It was a pleasure assisting it with its mammoth task of repairing the potholes and we look forward to supporting it in future possible partnerships."
