Work commenced on 29 July 2013 and included a facelift to the entrance façade of the building, a complete makeover of ablution facilities, slated ceilings throughout the arcade area, re-tiling of the common areas as well as new shop fronts for most of the shops that have not been upgraded.
"The relaunch will be the official unveiling of a more modern, bright and inviting centre," says Adnan Chogle, senior property manager for FPG Group, owners of Strand Square. "Today, shoppers expect more than just great stores in a retail development. We have enhanced a holistic shopping experience - from convenient access, ample parking and open, shopper friendly spaces to modernised common walkways, better facilities and the safety of our shoppers."
The retail mix offers convenience and choice to customers including national tenants such as Pick 'n Pay, Wimpy, Pep, Old Mutual, Crazy Store and PnA that have all welcomed the refurbishment to the centre.
"Strand Square enjoys exceptional visibility given its unique location just off the R44 (corner of Mills and Fagan street), its close proximity to the railway station, police station, beach and local municipality," concludes Chogle.
