Bizcommunity.com exciting reader demographics released today
It's official: Bizcommunity.com is the 12th biggest online publisher in South Africa as measured by the Online Publishers Association (OPA) in terms of readership and one of the biggest independently-owned online media in South Africa. This is according to the latest Nielsen/Netratings audited stats released by the OPA today, Tuesday, 10 May 2005.
Bizcommunity.com's latest reader stats are astounding, servicing 105 000 readers (unique browsers) in the creative industries - greater media, marketing, advertising and communications sectors every month; including the 40 000 subscribers to our daily and weekly electronic newsletters (ezines). All these unique eyeballs translate to 1.8 million page impressions viewed per month on the website.
Through the daily ezines (with a weekly roundup ezine) direct to the email inbox of subscribers, Bizcommunity.com consistently produces and edits up to 100 000 words a week of news, opinion, features, case studies, general industry information, better business information, jobs, events, people, new accounts, press releases, and funstuff like quotes and forums for debate - all published and archived on the website.
Bizcommunity.com founder and innovator, MD Andre Rademan, is ecstatic, giving credit to loyal Bizcommunity.com readers, contributors, advertisers and clients who are our best marketers out there in the industry, generating word-of-mouth subscriptions and visits to www.bizcommunity.com every day. "Bizcommunity.com grows businesses. Our advertisers and clients give us feedback everyday as to new business gained and talented staff hired from leads generated by our site. This industry is incredibly dynamic and Bizcommunity.com has created a powerful platform for this community to network, share information, promote talent and contribute to the economic development of our country."
Says Bizcommunity.com Editor and Media Strategist, Louise Marsland: "Our readers see us as their daily fix. They can't do without us and get upset if they miss one ezine! This kind of growth is unprecedented in the B2B online space and is due to the hard working and passionate team involved in producing Bizcommunity.com daily, and a platform that is user friendly for our readers.
"The quality of editorial generated by our editorial team and expert opinion leaders and contributors provides an unprecedented showcase of creative work and an archive of information and news critical to the sustainability and transformation of this industry in the long term."
Bizcommunity.com readers are young, well educated, upwardly mobile, from the upper-LSMs, access us from home and work, and speak several languages.
This is in keeping with the general online stats for the entire market also released by the OPA today: according to the statistics, South Africa's online publishers attract a highly educated and big-earning audience, with the largest group of internet users (about 24.7%) holding postgraduate degrees and about 19.4% of users holding bachelor's degrees. About 20% of users - by far the largest group in the household-income category -- are in the top-earning bracket (total combined annual household income of R400 000 a year or more).
Other highlights from the demographics released by the OPA yesterday for Bizcommunity.com, included the fact that 10% of our readers are from outside South Africa, proving that the treatment of our brands and global brands in South Africa has global appeal and relevance.
