Shop till you drop - online
"With the online retail market in South Africa now standing on more than R500 million per annum, online shopping is clearly an area that needs focus and direction," says Albert Bredenhann, MD of Jump Internet Technologies. "Jump Shopping took the bold step of bringing all the stores together in one place, and in doing so, assisting consumers with better shopping direction and buying power."
Retailers that have joined Jump Shopping so far include: Digital Planet, Look and Listen, McCarthy Call-a-Car, Egos, Ascot Direct, GPS-Shop, Watchco, eWine, Think Toys, BT Games, Bodynut, Cigars.co.za and FindaFlorist.
Bredenhann says many people have asked whether South Africa is ready for comparative shopping. "We feel that giving the consumers the ability quickly to obtain free and unbiased information about products, services, merchants and sellers before making a purchase decision is what South Africans need right now."
Jump Shopping will no longer be selling products on behalf of the merchants, having put the product knowledge back in the hand of the merchant.
