    New survey indicates consumers take action to avoid ads

    A survey, released yesterday 18 May 2016 by US provider of interactive video technology, Rapt Media, indicates that 95% of consumers take action to avoid seeing or receiving your ads. If you want to annoy them and see your content summarily ignored - keep doing what you're doing. If you want to engage them, create personalized content they can discover on their own.

    Report highlights

    • 63% of consumers say they would think more positively of a brand if it gave them content that was more valuable, interesting or relevant
    • 66% of consumers said that if they don’t view a content piece all the way through, it’s because it was uninteresting or irrelevant to them.
    • Why are consumers trying to get brands to stop sending them content and ads? Leading responses below:

      • 67% - They’re sending too much of it
      • 55% - It’s not interesting or relevant to them
      • 46% - It’s too pushy

      • 42% - They don’t trust them
