    Pendoring/KSF Ad of the Month

    FCB Cape Town and Net#work BBDO dominated the Copywriters' Forum's and Pendoring's Ad of the Month advertising competition this month with the most finalists. Net#work BBDO was named the winner in the radio category while FCB Cape Town won the print media category. Grey Worldwide walked away as winner in the outdoor category.

    The presentation ceremony of Ad of the Month took place on the roof of Naspers' head office on the foreshore in Cape Town. It was the first time that Cape Town hosted the event and Media24 Magazines pulled out all stops to make it a memorable evening.

    The judges decided not to name a winner in the TV category while entries in the newspaper and magazine categories were combined as print media.

    Copywriters' Forum chairperson Annette Nel announced that the Ad of the Month will become a seasonal award next year with four presentation ceremonies in summer, autumn, winter and spring. She again appealed to fellow creators, advertising agencies and clients to support the 'new and improved 'Ad of the Season' with renewed gusto and ensure that Afrikaans work is entered and in so doing given the recognition it deserves. "The aim is to stimulate Afrikaans advertising on an ongoing basis," she said, "and on top of it all, entries are free."

    Nel added that, in order to stimulate renewed interest in Pendoring and Ad of the Season, the Creative Circle will be approached to award creative points for winning entries.

    The Ad of the Month was launched for the first time this year after the Copywriters' Forum decided to become actively involved in the creation and promotion of Afrikaans advertising.

    The judges for this month's competition were Peet Pienaar (Daddy Buy Me a Pony), Liezl-Mari Long (Joe Public), Anina Underhill (KingJames), Trudy Oosthuizen (Tripple A) and Hanlie Kriel (FCB).
