Ireland/Davenport wins Investec

The much-coveted Investec advertising account has been award to Ireland/Davenport, it was announced yesterday, Tuesday, 28 August 2007. Following a hotly-contested tender process, the business was allocated in a final pitch between the remaining three agencies: Ogilvy Johannesburg, Jupiter Drawing Room and Ireland/Davenport.

Comments Ireland/Davenport MD Susan Ferguson, “Since the day we opened our doors, when we envisaged the calibre of client and brands with whom we dreamed of collaborating, Investec was at the very pinnacle of our list when it came to a specialist banking group brand.”

Continues Ferguson, “Having consolidated our business during the first half of 2007, to ensure that our existing clients were receiving the level of service, strategy and creative output we had promised, we were ready to embark on a new business drive in the second half of the year. The Investec account is the most perfect win for us, from both a timing and brand collaboration perspective. We could not be happier.”

The agency has been awarded the entire Investec account, including the Cape Town-based Asset Management division, which will see the young agency taking its next big step as it opens the doors to the Cape Town division of Ireland/Davenport.

“From a creative viewpoint,” adds founding partner John Davenport, “some of the most iconic advertising to ever come out of South Africa has been produced on Investec. We cannot wait to rise to the creative challenge and to continue to produce the ground-breaking work that made this brand famous.”
