Creative Circle results for August 2013

The Creative Circle Ad of the Month results for August 2013 have been announced, and chairperson for the advertising judging panel that month, Rob McLennan of King James 11, commenting on the winning ads, added that "not surprisingly for the month after everyone depleted themselves at the Loeries, it was a particularly light month for August Award entries. With only one entry submitted, the August Out of Home category will be held over until next month. But surprisingly, within the small field there were some worthy winners, particularly in Print and Radio."

PrintThere was a tie in first place in Print with the jury voting evenly for the two pieces. The first was a smart campaign from Joe Public where the ads read in both Afrikaans and English for a dual medium school, and the second was a really simple insight into viewers with a passion for movies for the many DSTV Movie channels which illustrate how your knowledge of certain moves exceeds that of knowledge your family, your body etc.
FilmThere were two main contenders in film. Ogilvy Cape Town nudged in front by a hair with a suitably mental ad for Stimorol Sensations, closely followed by the TBWA Jhb for the recent Loerie awards which is, without a doubt, a very difficult brief for a difficult audience and for which they managed to find a fresh and funny way in.
RadioRadio was won by the Loerie winning One School at as Time radio campaign which was pretty much a no brainer. A great illustration of how radio can still be used in an innovative and impactful way.
