Deprive yourself for the best of causes
Food or technology deprivation for 40 hours - a hard call for our youth, but that's what World Vision South Africa is requesting this weekend to raise funds for millions of HIV/AIDS orphans. And Net#work BBDO and Suburban Films freely created and produced a TV commercial to assist the organisation in meeting its goal.
Says Miles Goodall from Suburban Films: "I hope my contribution to this will go some way in helping those affected by AIDS and that it will open more peoples eyes to the problem."
Frame by frame, the commercial depicts a techno famine where there are no cell phones, computers, computer games, televisions, fridges, CDs etc. As a back up to the commercial, Net#work has strategically placed fridges at large intersections throughout Johannesburg.
