Marketing & Media South Africa

Rihanna's passed off

Singer Rihanna has sued the UK retail chain Topshop for US$5m in damages for the unauthorised use of her image on a t-shirt. Has this got you wondering what the law is in South Africa on the issue of unauthorised endorsement?

John Maeda doesn't apparently care much for things he has made, but there is one image, which he reckons is the best thing he ever created.

Listen in to [Biz Takeouts Podcast] 64: TEDx Cape Town. We looked at the TEDx Cape Town organisation (@tedxcapetown) and the upcoming TEDx Cape Town event. We also chatted to Native (@native) executive creative director, Ryan McManus about his recent CSR campaigns and creative ideas in South Africa.

Some things are free... now you can host your own live TEDxCapeTown viewing party for free, says TEDxCapeTown.

Finally, Hamish Pringle shows you how to navigate media conversations and the value of OOH.
