SABC in Carrim's sights
NEWSWATCH: Newly appointed communications minister Yunus Carrim says one of his first tasks will be to sort out the SABC, reports Times Live.

According to the Times Live report, Carrim said yesterday that "he will act with urgency to turn around the underperforming information and communications sector" - and that, naturally, includes the SABC, which some feel has become somewhat of a circus.
Dina Pule will be a very easy act to follow, but having said that, Yunus Carrim has, thus far, done pretty well in the various positions he has held. So...
Here's hoping that he will be far more effective in the position than his predecessor was; it's very likely a hope that we can accept as a given... given, in the view of many, Pule's underwhelming performance as communications minister.
