Kitting out the nation for 2010

In preparation for the 2010 Soccer World Cup, Altech Autopage Cellular will be giving away brand new soccer kits, in a variety of colours and combinations, to underprivileged teams from communities around South Africa. Deadline for submitting qualifying motivations is Saturday, 15 April 2006.

Speaking at the official launch of the project at The Pirates Club in Johannesburg on 14 March 2006, Stephen Blewett, managing director of Altech Autopage Cellular, said, "We must remember that South Africa's raw soccer talent can be found all over the country, very often in disadvantaged communities. Providing good quality and attractive strip is just one way to boost not only the players but also the communities they represent."

The 300 sets of kit will be for teams from disadvantaged communities, between the ages of 15 to 25, from high school to regional and community levels.

To qualify, a team or its representative must complete a competition form and submit it, together with a written motivation, at any Altech Autopage Cellular retail outlet. Entry forms are available at Altech Autopage Cellular retail outlets and at www.autopage.co.za. Motivations will be assessed by a panel appointed by the company.
