AfriGIS Learnership in association with CTU Training Solution
Ten candidates were selected from various applications and have since embarked on obtaining their Further Education and Training (FET) National Certificate: IT Systems Development, NQF level 5. The minimum selection criteria were a matric qualification and thereafter the sky is the limit. The learnership empowers these learners and further offers them the opportunity to gain hands-on work experience at AfriGIS. After completion of the theoretical part of the learnership at CTU the learners will join AfriGIS for six month's practical training. Professional practitioners working at AfriGIS will serve as mentors to guide the learners and introduce them to working life.
The learners will also receive "soft skills" training from the AfriGIS Human Resources department. This training will focus on personal development and will also aim to equip these young individuals with the necessary skills to prepare them for their careers.
AfriGIS strongly believes in reaching out to individuals less fortunate, not only to positively influence them but also to experience and enjoy the growth they demonstrate. We are enthusiastic about this skills development programme, which assists with the upliftment of eager and talented young individuals unable to afford further education after matric. Our Team is excited to welcome the learners at AfriGIS and sending them off, well equipped with both practical and life experience, at the end of 2012.
