Top SA online shopping results
"The number of searches on Jump Shopping increased month by month, and with 80% of traffic on Jump Shopping generated by excellent Google and search engine rankings, we are more than optimistic that 2007 would be an excellent year for Jump Shopping," says Albert Bredenhann, co-owner of Jump Shopping.
The Jump Shopping catalogue is populated with product and product information from various online stores in South Africa on a daily basis, enabling the consumer to search for the best price. In the last 30 days, Jump Shopping had more than 1 200 000 page views from approximately 50 000 unique visitors.

The race between iPod and Xbox is on par with Google Trends for the same two words.
- iPod
- XBox 360
- GPS
- DVD
- PSP
- Notebook
- Watches
- Memory
- LCD
- Plasma TV
Even though the list is only for the top 10 words, one of the biggest climbers on the list in the last six months is the word "baby" and this could be in the top 10 with the next results. It is very clear that mothers are making use of online shopping more than ever before.
South African consumers do not only search for specific words but browse through specific categories in the search for that specific product. The most popular products on Jump Shopping seem to be dominated by cellphones.
Most viewed products:
- I-Mate K-Jam
- Nokia N73
- Chelino Travel Systems

Sony Cybershot DSC H2 - Garmap Africa Road Atlas

- Need for Speed PC Game
- Acer 17 LCD Monitor
And when it comes to the big question regarding the best online shopping brand in South Africa, the results are just as surprising. Jump Shopping has more than 3500 brands listed from over 55 high-end online stores. Samsung topped the list for the first six months and, according to Bredenhann, is the number one online shopping brand in South Africa.

- Hewlett-Packard
- Garmin
- ATI
- BenQ

The number of stores currently listed in the online shopping directory is close to the 600 mark and, according to Bredenhann, the list is not 100% complete as all online stores are yet accounted for. The total number of products in the catalogue grows on a daily basis as more online stores join the Jump Merchant program which generates leads to the stores.
