Mobile hearing screening
Bringing hope to disadvantaged children
As part of our continuing corporate investment strategy AfriGIS is a proud sponsor of hearScreen mobile hearing screening in collaboration with TUKS and the NEA Foundation. Bringing hope to disadvantaged children.
HearScreen is an innovative, cost-effective hearing screening solution, employing university-based engineering ingenuity and the best in commercial technologies.
Sensory development is very important in childhood development and auditory development is most important in children entering the schooling system. This sense, or lack thereof, directly affects the development of speech and language. Hearing testing is important to determine if children suffer from hearing loss.
NEA Foundation, is a non-profit organisation that values the involvement of the public and believes in the contribution which individuals and corporate sponsors can make towards change.
NEA values a holistic approach towards intervention, not working with a child in isolation but acknowledging the importance of parent involvement in the development of the child. Children attending the ECD are not merely treated as learners but as individuals who form part of a family who are valuable partners in the education of their child. Family involvement includes personal contact with the parents, skills development as well as job creation opportunities and in-service training at the schools for parents to become teachers and staff.
We create ONE OF A KIND GEOSPATIAL SOLUTIONS. We use geospatial information science to bring information about WHERE to life across industries and in any application. This helps our clients unlock value through better business intelligence.
