Getting it in the Mother City, too

get it, Caxton's free monthly community magazine from Gauteng and KwaZulu-Natal, spreads its reach to Cape Town next month, courtesy of Ramsay, Son & Parker. The joint venture between Caxton and Ramsay, Son & Parker follows an agreement in January this year that saw Caxton buy 30% of the Cape publisher.

The first Cape-based edition, to be published in September, will target the City Bowl and Atlantic Seaboard, aimed at AB income earners who enjoy being part of what's hip-and-happening, and have the money to indulge their interests.

Ellen Raubenheimer, for many years editor-in-chief of eight Caxton community newspapers published weekly in Gauteng, has been appointed publisher. Robyn Daly, formerly senior photojournalist at Getaway, is editor of the new title. Saliegh Osmond and Tania Jacobs, the two ad sales executives, are already actively at work selling ad space for the launch issue.

Under the banner "rediscovering your neighbourhood", get it is a light read highlighting the people, events and attractions of the area. The full-colour, glossy lifestyle publication features trendy eateries, new attractions, the social scene and nightlife, as well as décor, fashion, health and beauty, gardening and travel - all with a strong community bias. It also has a practical advice component in terms of available services.

Some 25 000 copies of the free monthly magazine will be distributed to households and through key retail points in the area in the last week of August.
