The awards aim to bring SA bloggers to the forefront of people's attention, both locally and internationally, and to increase exposure for SA's bloggers. Ultimately, the intention is to communicate with people not currently involved in blogging and encourage them, by example, to join in.
There are no new categories this year, but four previously featured no longer appear, namely: Best Web Site Promoting Blogging; Best Social Upliftment Blog; Best Undiscovered Blog; and Best Blog about the SA Blog Awards.
The nominations will fall into the following categories:
The winners of the awards will be announced on 3 April. Last year's award winners were dominated by the traditional media with eight of the 22 awards being won by East Coast Radio, and the Mail & Guardian Online/Thoughtleader.
