Early bird discount for ADC entries

For the first time, Art Directors Club (ADC) is offering a 10% early bird discount on the entire order for work entered and checked out before 4 January 2010 for its 89th Annual Awards. Playing off the Cube award, the inaugural ADC-Nissan Student Brief Competition asks students to respond to a brief for the new Nissan cube.

Those taking advantage of this special offer should notify ADC by email upon completion of the entry; reimbursements will be issued 3-5 weeks after the awards' final deadline.

Entrants can also make use of the staggered deadlines for submission by category: Design - 22 January; Interactive and Student - 29 January; Advertising - 5 February; ADC Hybrid and ADC Design Sphere - 26 February. The program is open globally to members and non-members alike.

Inaugural student competition

For the ADC-Nissan Student Brief Competition, participants will develop a creative campaign or concepts for the US market that make the Nissan cube part of the target audience's life, using channels and communications vehicles they feel most appropriate to the target's lifestyle and what the model represents.

A US$3500 award from Nissan will go to the grand prize-winner, with US$2500 from ADC going to runner-ups. A five-person jury made up of executives and key creatives from Nissan North America and TBWA\Chiat\Day, the car company's ad agency, will award ADC Gold, Silver and Bronze Cubes. Winners will be announced in conjunction with the ADC 89th Annual Awards Festival.

Winner's gallery

For the first time in the history of the awards, the 2010 award winners will be able to share their work with the ADC membership and the broader ad community with free access to the spacious ADC Gallery. Winning agencies can use the gallery walls and video monitors to stage a thought-provoking exhibition of past and/or present work of their choosing, and invite clients, recruits or other VIPs to attend a private event on one night. The multi-day exhibition will be open on subsequent days to all ADC members, as well as the public.

Gala event

The 2010 awards gala event will be presented over two nights 28-29 April 2010 at the new SVA Visual Arts Theatre in the Chelsea section of New York. The state-of-the-art theatre was designed by world-renowned designer and ADC Hall of Fame member Milton Glaser, and features what may be the city's largest kinetic sculpture on top of the theatre's marquee.
