Trigger named Marketing Services Company of the Year

Trigger, a direct marketing specialist, was named AdReview's Marketing Services Company of the Year. The event was the platform to launch Tony Koenderman's AdReview, an annual survey of advertising and marketing published with Finance Week, and in an Afrikaans version in Finansies & Tegniek.

Trigger was one of two extremely strong contenders, both of whom were dominant in their area of primary specialization. The Marketing Services Award is for agencies that specialise in non-advertising (or below-the-line) activities, such as direct marketing, design, sponsorship, promotions and online marketing.

The finalists were Octagon, the sponsorship specialist, that was again the top agency at the Raptor Awards for the most effective sponsorship programmes; and Trigger, a born-again agency that took top spot at the Assegai Awards for direct marketing.
Both awards festivals are for effectiveness rather than creativity, and are won by case studies that demonstrate this.

In the four years since Trigger first opened for business, the agency has completely reinvented itself, so successfully that it enjoyed a growth rate of 66% in revenues last year, and was the dominant agency at the Assegais. It took 24% of all awards made to the top five agencies, earning the plaudits for four different clients across five categories.

Trigger opened its doors in 2000 aiming to provide marketing services to technology-based clients. When the IT bubble burst, shifted its focus away from IT branding and focused on developing measurable marketing tools that could deliver results to a wide range of industries.
