    Motsweding FM freshens up brand

The recent lineup changes at Motsweding FM, an adult contemporary vernacular station broadcasting to seTswana-speaking audiences within North West, Gauteng, Northern Cape and Free State provinces, are part of the move to bring a contemporary edge to a brand previously described as an aging icon.

The station, which targets LSM 5 - 8 and ages 25 - 49 in metropolitan and rural communities, provides a mix of news, music (including jazz, R&B, kwaito, house, hip-hop, gospel and world music), current affairs, talk shows, education, sport, weather and traffic. The station has an average of 2.9 million listeners and SeTswana will remain the main differentiator of the station.

Says Ben M Dikobe, Motsweding FM's station manager, “We believe that with our new lineup and strategic content changes, we will continue to entertain our listeners while remaining true to our mandate as a public broadcaster seeking to inform and educate our listeners through cutting edge radio concepts.”

While the lineup has not changed dramatically, there are two presenters who have been moved from their weekend slots to the already successful weekday lineup:
