The report says that the iPads will still use the standard 9,7-inch screen but will have better screen resolution of 1536 x 2048 pixels and will run on Apple's new quad-core A6 chips as opposed to the dual-core A5 chips in the iPad2.
Digitimes says that one of the new models will have an 8-megapixel camera with a 5-megapixel lens. The new models are not likely to replace the iPad2 but price reductions of the older model are likely to follow.
The report is based on "sources" within the supply chain in Taiwan where a number of components for the iPad are made.
