New addition to Cape Homemakers Expo
Another project at this year's Cape Homemakers Expo is MirrorArt. A variety of artists, including fine artists, ceramicists, fashion designers and mosaic artists were invited to decorate a mirror and frame to their heart's content. The mirrors will be displayed for the duration of the Expo and visitors are invited to bid on their favourite piece. All funds raised will be donated to Habitat for Humanity, a community development organisation which builds homes for the previously disadvantaged.
Other home improvement, enhancement and decor products, include highlights such as the Décor & Accessories area, the Sound Emporium, Green Living and the Future of Design.
The expo won the 2009 EXSA Award for Best Trade and Consumer Exhibition in the category between 6 000m² and 12 000m². It is part of Homemakers, a national group which also presents four similar home lifestyle shows annually in Johannesburg, Durban, Port Elizabeth and Vaal Triangle.
The 15th annual Cape Homemakers Expo will be open from 10am - 9pm on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, and from 10am - 6pm on Sunday. Entrance for adults is R50, pensioners pay R30 and children younger than 12 enter free of charge.
