50% Increase In Online Shoppers!
A global 36-country (Europe, North and South America and Asia-Pacific) study published by Taylor Nelson Sofres reveals that 15% of Internet users shop online, up from 10%, and a further 15% of offline shoppers got their info online! There are more males (36%) online than females (27%). The biggest sellers were books, CDs, clothes, groceries/food and holidays/leisure in that order.
Other findings include:
- Only 6% of non-shoppers said that they did not buy online for price-related reasons.
- There are more surfers under 30 than over 30 years of age.
- The most online buyers are between 30 and 40 years of age.
- Only 7% of people below 20 years of age shop online.
- Japan has the highest proportion of internet users at 41%.
