“We believe that young people should be building on a foundation of understanding about the creative industry; the significance and relevance of design in the world as well as the joy of creating in everyday life,” says Caryn van Rooyen, Design Indaba Expo project manager.
However, these workshops are not just all play and no work. Kids and their parents will need to think out the box as they are challenged to make the most of their creativity. Each activity will work to build confidence in both children and parents, as they are inspired to think of their own ideas to be unique and innovative in their creations. This is a chance for kids, students and parents to unleash creative potential, soak up information communicated in their own language and be stimulated by abundant activities at the expo, open to the public from 26-28 February 2010.
Each day will have something new and exciting for kids and their parents to explore together. All these workshops are to be pre-booked while spaces last. The organisers encourage parents to accompany their children throughout the workshop experience and book now, as limited places are available.
