From expert PR to brand communication truths

This week's coverage starts on a high note, with small public relations consultancy PR Expert taking top honours at the 19th PRISA PRISM Awards. Bizcommunity sponsored this year's lifetime achievement award, which went to Peter Mann of Meropa Communications. Danette Breitenbach attended and captured this year's spirit of celebrating the passion of communications here.

Still in the realm of communications, Felix Kessel feels brands should engage with new media and communications disciplines. This is especially pertinent with 'social media' seen as a top strategy for 'digital marketing', yet social media was created as a human-to-human platform for its interactions. And brands, while they can have personalities, can never be people.

Then, with its strong focus on brand communication I looked a few months down the line to the Loeries 2016, I dug deeper into their #Creativity Unites campaign for the year, which is about more than pretty pictures.
