New loyalty programme offers World Cup tickets
While the company kicks off its 2010 FIFA World Cup campaign with its new TV commercial, it has launched a new MTN 1-4-1 loyalty programme, which gives its customers the chance to win tickets. The programme also rewards MTN customers with airtime, SMS bundles and data bundles. Registration is free and, on registering for the loyalty programme, a customer receives one entry into the monthly draw for double 2010 FIFA World Cup tickets.
All monthly non-winning entries will be carried over each month until May 2010, when the last draw takes place. Customers will also have the opportunity to buy more entries into the monthly draw with points earned, and these will also be carried over until May 2010.
Pieter Verkade, the company's chief marketing officer, says: "We are proud to be part of the 2010 FIFA World Cup and the new MTN 1-4-1 loyalty programme allows us to share this with our customers. This will give them the chance of getting tickets to attend games and be part of this once-in-a-lifetime event, taking place right here on the African continent."
MTN customers can register for the programme by dialling *141*9# from their handsets or access it via the company's WAP site from their handsets. Earning points is simple: customers earn one point for every R1 spent on their subscription - Pay As You Go, TopUp or contract. They also earn one point for every day they are active on the MTN network (up to 31 points a month). And, as a limited bonus offer applicable to registrations up to 31 August 2009, customers will get 60 days of backdated usages and tenure upon registration. Points earned by customers can also be redeemed for virtual MTN products such as airtime and SMS bundles as well as data bundles.
