Northlink College students chosen to represent South Africa in 'World Cup' of skills in Brazil

Mia Crous from the Northlink College Parow Campus and Duwayne Davids from the Wingfield Campus will be participating in the Hairdressing and the CNC-Turning skills categories respectively. The competeition will give these students the opportunity to learn from their international peers and also give them the opportunity to measure themselves against international standards.
"The South African Department of Higher Education and Training has announced the decade of the artisan in 2014 and competitions like these fall into the mandate of the department to continue developing skills that will allow students to not only create a possible sustainable income but also contribute to the economy of the country," says Louis Carelse, WorldSkills SA CNC-Turning national expert that will be joining the students on this journey.
