Production studio offers creative space
Joburg-based Openroom productions, started in 1999 by Darryl Torr, operates in a variety of genres with national and international artists to offer artists a creative space in which they feel inspired to make music the way that they want to.
The Openroom team is dedicated to providing artists with a total production solution with a main objective of bringing the music to the people.
Getting the "right sound"
Previously based inside the SABC, where the heart of analogue gear lives, Openroom has since then grown in experience, getting the "right sound". Torr took the knowledge he gained and combined it with his ideas and vision to create a studio that involves the public by giving them the opportunity to be more informed and involved in the creative process within music.
Openroom Productions, now located in Greenside offers state-of-the-art gear and instruments, as well as the required expertise in getting what the artist desires from his recordings.
Openroom Productions provides the following services:
• Live band mixing for television broadcasting
• Live mixing for radio broadcast
• Full album production and recording
• Mix packages
• On-location recording
• Album launches
• Live tracking in studio with an audience (with or without video)
• Special musical events
