Best Lasers launches Soprano Xli in SA

The Soprano Xli was launched by Alma Lasers in March 2010 at the American Academy of Dermatology in Miami (AAD). Best Lasers, sole distributors of Alma lasers in South Africa, has since launched the Soprano Xli locally. The new Soprano Xli is known for its super hair removal, skin tightening and according to Alma Lasers, it is the world's first laser that is virtually pain-free.

In-motion technology

The super hair removal mode uses in-motion technology. At 10HZ pulse repetition rate and with more energy of up to 20 J/cm2, it has a high efficacy especially in thinner and lighter hair. The reason it is virtually pain-free is because the in-motion technology means that one does not need to keep the hand piece in a stationary position, but move it around in a circular motion which will also minimise the chance of missing a hair and also speeds up the procedure. According to Andy Best, this "pain free, hair free" technology has caused a buzz in the market.

Soprano Xli versus conventional lasers

Conventional lasers use a high peak power, but the in-motion technique uses a high average power, and the cumulative energy is important. The Soprano Xli can treat all skin types even tanned skin. The size of the tip is a 12x10mm, which will give you 20-30 million shots on the hand piece before it needs to be replaced.
