Sanlam goes custom with RamsayMedia
RamsayMedia's first custom title will be a quarterly lifestyle magazine directed at members of Sanlam's Reality Lifestyle and Rewards programme from April 2009 in a new partnership with Sanlam, the media house announced this morning, Thursday 29 January.
The title is the first from RamsayMedia's newly established custom publishing division, the company's latest addition to its multimedia platform. The division has former Get It group editor and Getaway photojournalist Robyn Daly at the editorial helm.
Apart from adding value to the members of the Reality Lifestyle and Rewards programme - who already receive a host of discounts, special offers and services - the magazine will give Sanlam a platform to communicate its brand values and provide financial education to its clients, as well as showcase its social responsibility initiatives.
Five editorial pillars
The 64-page glossy Reality magazine intends to offer informative and entertaining content across its five editorial pillars: money and wealth, travel, wheels, wellness and healthy living and shopping. Additional content will include food and wine, people, science and technology and art and culture.
Commenting on the style and editorial mix of the new magazine, Daly said, "Reality will be lighthearted and conversational, but it will have gravitas. It will speak to a community of readers who are hungry for information and inspiration. Besides helping them to dream about their next holiday destination, car, great gear and gadgets for the home and holidays, the magazine will offer useful information on how to make that dream a reality."
"We are very happy to be working with RamsayMedia on this project," said Andre van Selm, CEO of Reality. "They have a superb track record in publishing top-class lifestyle magazines that complement the Reality offering very well. The new magazine will leverage the quality journalism and photography that RamsayMedia is known for in a lifestyle magazine that aims to entertain and educate our clients."
With an initial print-run of 60 000, Reality is projected to grow rapidly through 100 000 copies as it targets Sanlam's middle-to-high household income clients. RamsayMedia will also be responsible for advertisement sales for the title, with Angie Meintjes as the account manager.
