After almost 14 months of construction, Pick 'n Pay's much-anticipated New Evolution Norwood Hypermarket opened its doors for business on Tuesday, 4 September.

The Hypermarket features world-class interior design that promotes less congestion and easy access to products; wider aisles, free parking, free deliveries of large appliances (within a 15-km radius) and photographic labs. In addition, the Hypers have on-site dispensaries, extensive health and beauty ranges, grocery and perishable ranges, household ranges, kitchen shop, audio and visual departments and fresh food areas; as well as an in-store restaurant.

Another first for South Africa are the new baby centres, equipped with a parent-friendly section that stocks baby products, on-shelf developmental tips, interactive floor décor to keep little ones amused, a baby development info centre and parent-friendly changing rooms.

Says stores director, Dallas Langman: “This is the fourth New Evolution Hypermarket launched since November last year – heralding an entirely new era of shopping for South Africans. Our aim was to create evolutionary Hypermarkets that would provide the ultimate destination shopping experience for our customers, and judging from customer feedback, that's exactly what we've done. These cutting-edge Hypers boast the most incredible product offering, as well as a new level of service and customer care.”
