Liquid Thread launches in South Africa
The Starcom MediaVest Group (SMG) has launched its global digital agency division, Liquid Thread, in South Africa to capitalise on changing consumer media consumption habits driven by technology and social media.
"It enables us to offer our clients seamless strategic campaign extensions across mobile and online platforms, presenting world class digital opportunities as part of our media solution. It is a globally recognised name in the digital arena, with the brand fully entrenched and already setting benchmarks in Chicago and New York. We're pleased to launch our next innovative offering to our South African client base," says SMG's Gordon Patterson.
"As a human experience company, it is imperative that we have a channel through which to extend campaign content to the online avenues, making it more easily accessible to consumers. Our aim is to deliver more effective human experiences through digitally-led content," he adds.
Headed up by Marsha Azar, it is positioned to provide brand inspired experiences that originate at the intersection of creative, media and technology. Azar has spent 12 years in the digital industry, having owned her own agency, prior to being marketing manager at Silver Sands and being on the team at Real Media, the country's first digital agency.
"We create digital and mobile content, which propels brands across screens and between people, creating brand inspired experiences. Our abilities enable us to deliver creative brand placement, strategy, original programming, SEO, video, production mobile display and social media integration," explains Azar.
"It represents the next stage of audience aggregation and content development for SMG. In line with the network's digital, open source approach, it will increase the scale and innovation of the group's content creation, moving beyond branded entertainment to create communities, conversations and experiences," she concludes.
