Conference on successful online strategies

The first Successful Online Strategies Conference, to be held on 5 September 2008 in Johannesburg, aims to create a high-value conference at which delegates will learn from and engage with prominent local and global speakers.

The conference is ideal for a diverse array of delegates, including marketing executives, business owners, SEO professionals, media planners, webmasters, direct marketers, agency professionals, and e-commerce managers.

The speakers include:

  • Jim Stern: consultant to Fortune 500 companies and entrepreneurs, with 25-years experience in sales and marketing on measuring the value of the Internet as a medium for creating and strengthening customer relationships. He has written six books and is the producer of the international eMetrics Marketing Optimisation Summits and the founding president and current chairman of the Web Analytics Association.

  • Jarred Cinman: software director at Cambrient, with over 10-years experience in the Internet industry, he started one of the first professional web service companies in South Africa. He was also founder and technology-director at multimedia firm VWV Interactive, and is a keen observer of social networking as well as an avid blogger.

  • Harry Trisos: has been involved in the marketing of telemedia for the past 15 years and is at the forefront of developments in value-added content throughout this period. He has also provided media marketing services to almost every major publication in the country and has contributed to the Mobile section of Bizcommunity.com. Trisos chairs and presents at conferences on mCommerce and mobile marketing.

  • Steven Liversedge: has been involved in the online industry for 11 years, being a partner and director at CubicICE. He directs the development of effective online strategies and services, for clients in both the business-to-business and business-to-consumer environment. Liversedge is also involved with the Web Analytics Association (US) and was directly responsible for the project management of the advanced marketing educational module, contributing some 25% of course content.

  • Mike Stopforth: CEO of Cerebra - a leading social media company, he also writes weekly columns for the Citizen newspaper and is a technology commentator for popular business and marketing websites. He also co-founded web start-up Afrigator, Africa's social media aggregator and the 27 dinner social networking movement, and lectures at the Vega School of Branding.

  • Richard Mullins: MEA director at Acceleration, he has played an instrumental role in the growth of the company in South Africa, working with clients to identify their online marketing needs to establish effective online marketing strategies. His career included tenures at Ogilvy, Mather and Saatchi & Saatchi.

  • Tracey Steyn: marketing director at Acceleration is responsible for planning, development and implementation of all the company's marketing strategies. She has more than 10-years experience in marketing, focusing on online marketing and technology products, with an abundant knowledge of eCommerce and marketing business-to-business products globally.

  • Gillian Meier: with a 10-year run in the South African Internet industry, she is a certified eMarketing professional, qualified Google advertising professional and SEO-certified analyst. She has also worked as marketing specialist and business manager at CareerJunction and is the founder of Blue Magnet Web Intellect.

  • Claire Young: a client relationship manager at CubicICE with an Honours Degree in Marketing Communication, she has four years of agency experience, focusing on both business-to business and business-to-consumer practices. She has worked with a range of high-profiled clients and has been pioneering online public relations and best practices.

  • Niel Bornman: operational director at Clickthinking, he bridges the gaps between the developers and the business interests. He is currently the chairman of the Certification Committee of the Web Analytics Association (US) and previously worked as online analytics director at Acceleration as well as headed up IT management for Health 24.
