Your mission should you choose to accept it ... Introduction

Over the next couple of weeks I'll be holding a weekly column called "Your mission should you choose to accept it...". The mission is two-fold: breaking into the industry and creating a better system to help creativity shine - be it advertising, marketing, PR... you name it. The main objective; to get noticed and to become the best in what we do.

In the column I'll also be highlighting various topics regarding education that need attention by our industry and colleges in order to find new and undiscovered talent in our country. South Africa is squashing talent and they don't even know it, or even worse... they do, but for risk sake don't put it on their "to do" lists.

This column is created to get the attention of students, to create a banner shouting "here I am" and then a view from the outside looking in. How current education systems are failing and killing opportunities for our younger brains of tomorrow.

Of course every week I will ask for your comments and suggestions that can help readers and even if possible help those that are trying to get that little "meeting" just for five minutes to introduce themselves and their potential.

Let's make a difference, YOU can make a difference. You as the media industry know you have the power to create desires and lust for products and services, it's your life... it's what's your passion (I know it's mine... is it yours?). It's what you do. Lets create a lust for finding new talent and exposing it. Let's embrace risk, youth, creativity and most important of all... ideas. Let's make South Africa a true hub.
