Progressive Retailing relaunched

Edition Publishers has announced that it is relaunching award-winning trade title, Progressive Retailing, as an insightful read for FMCG marketers and retailers. The new-look issue is due out in July 2004.

Edition Publishers purchased the FMCG retail trade publication from Primedia Publishing earlier this year, adding to its stable of business-to-business titles which cover the retailing trade: Retail Edition, which focuses on the nuts and bolts of FMCG retailing; and Hardware Edition, an annual guide for hardware retailers.

Commented Edition Publishers' MD, Glynis Dietrechsen: "We believe there is a gap in the market for a quality title in the FMCG retailing space for both top-end retail executives and FMCG marketers. We aim to bridge that gap.

"Progressive Retailing aims to provide retailers, manufacturers and retail support companies with a magazine of editorial and visual integrity containing up-to-date and pertinent product and industry information."

The first issue of the new look 10-year-old title will be launched in June. Content will be pitched at executives in the industry, with insightful comment from experts in the industry and cutting-edge features by leading journalists. Top columnists have been secured and lifting rights are being secured with top international B2B retail publications.

The print run will be 3 500 and it will be distributed to FMCG Buyers, Managing Directors, Marketing Directors Marketing Managers, Trade Marketing Managers, Sales Directors, Channel Managers and Category Managers.

"As a leading trade publisher, we are consistently trying to raise standards in trade publishing, particularly in the FMCG industry," says Dietrechsen, who is a co-opted member of the ABC Board. "Trade Publishing is a much needed vital link in the marketing supply chain and as publishers, we are mindful of our responsibility to the industry in this regard."
