Darren Scott and Gold Circle win R30 000 for Winter Warmth
Seasoned East Coast Radio personality, Darren Scott, has more than just a keen ear for music, he's also blessed by having ‘Lady Luck' on his side. That was evident this weekend when he won R30 000 for East Coast Radio's Winter Warmth 2009 campaign.
When Scott was given the opportunity by Gold Circle to place a bet for Charity on behalf of them in the days leading up to the Vodacom Durban July, he gladly took up the offer.
He was given R5000 to bet on the horses of his choice, and if he were to win, the money would go to Charity - in this instance, Winter Warmth 2009.
Scott bet R2 000 wins on Pocket Power (1) and a R3000 boxed swinger on (1) Pocket Power, (4) Kapil, (6) River Jetez, (9) Forest Path and (20) Zirconeum.
This winning formula turned the R5000 he was given into R30 000! The donation is a welcomed cash injection to the Winter Warmth campaign and will be able to buy 1000 blankets!
