Competition to change magazine readers' lives

Freshpak tea, Bona magazine and Jose House of Beauty will be giving five of the magazine's readers the opportunity to change their lives.

The winners will be able to study part or full time courses in beauty therapy. The prizes consist of two full-time, two-year courses in beauty therapy, and three part-time courses in nail technology. All courses will take place at Jose House of Beauty, which is based in Parktown North, Johannesburg.

Advertisements in the magazine as well as other local papers around Gauteng have acted as a call to entry to readers. In addition, Freshpak has been running mall sampling and road shows around Gauteng, North West Province, Mpumalanga and Limpopo, where the entry forms are available. Readers are invited to submit a motivation as to why they should be selected to study the courses. The promotion has also been supported by a live read campaign on Jozi FM.

The competition targets the urban black market. “The key element of this competition is that we and Jose House of Beauty are giving the five winners a skill which can be used going forward - an option to find work in a salon, or even to look at opening their own businesses”, says Janet Rose, brand manager.

Jose House of Beauty diplomas are registered by City and Guilds in South Africa, and they are also internationally recognised.

The competition closes on 11 December, and the winners will be announced in the April issue of Bona.
