The first ‘livingspace' stores opened in Cape Town and Johannesburg in 2005 with the aim of offering design-conscious consumers a comprehensive range of affordable contemporary furniture and a full range of homewares.
The Foschini Group team behind the @home livingspace concept is the same one that successfully introduced @home stores, of which there are more than 50 countrywide. The new ‘livingspace' stores are larger (1 700 to 2 000 square metres) and incorporate furniture, lighting and wall art together with the accessories available in existing @home stores.
International and local furniture design companies supply exclusive pieces to the stores and décor consultants are on hand to advise customers on how to combine furniture, fabrics and accessories to best effect.
The stores are situated in Willowbridge in Tygervalley, Cape Town, the Design Quarter in Fourways, Johannesburg and now Loch Logan in Westdene, Bloemfontein.
