Little boxes go green

What if a box could be more? This question drove the Aldo designers to produce a shoebox that will not only reduce the company's plastic bag consumption by 40% in 2009 and 70% by the end of next year but also is made from recycled materials and eco-friendly soy-based dyes and finishes. By adding the handle to the box, the need for a packet was eliminated.
Little boxes go green

If a box can replace a bag, what else can it do? It could organise your space. There is no ego in eco, so the new shoebox is free of bold branding and even features a special label index so that you can keep track of what is inside.

“We did away with traditional shoebox making methods, as who needs more toxins?” explains Aldo brand manager, Megan McGuiness. “And for those times when you really do need a bag, they are available.” However, the new shopping bags are also designed with recycling in mind. Each bag is made from 100% wood free paper, supporting the growth of responsible forest management worldwide.
