Named after its benefactor, UFH alumnus Dr Sisa Ngebulana, The 2020 Sisa Ngebulana Undergraduate Scholarship For Law and Accounting will benefit unfunded students who are pursuing degrees in the fields of law and accounting for the first time in 2020.
The five scholarships will be awarded to academically deserving 1st year students with excellent matric results.
In addition to the five scholarships, Ngebulana has also contributed R200,000 - donated via the Sisa Ngebulana Foundation - as part of a fundraising initiative that was set up with 35 other highly esteemed UFH alumni. This is the biggest single contribution by an alumnus of the University of Fort Hare. The proceeds of the fundraising initiative were used to clear the debt of 78 students who graduated on 29 May 2020.
The Sisa Ngebulana Foundation will also provide internships and stipends to selected students in a programme tailored towards the field of Property Development. This programme will be structured to enhance the employability of the successful graduates through development of entrepreneurial skills. Successful interns will be selected on merit through a transparent process in line with the donor’s guidelines.
