Now in its second year, the "500 Best Buys for top-to-toe beauty" is a guide by Shape readers for readers: 714 readers completed a 25 minute online questionnaire in which they revealed what they have in their bathrooms and make-up bags and the products they covet most.
From the classic products our mothers used, to those more indulgent ones dreams are made of, word of mouth is the best recommendation. Among the thousands of beauty products on store shelves, a few gems stand out. These are the creams, lotions, lipsticks and hair essentials women swear by to make them look - and feel - better.
Shape magazine asked its readers to share theirs and the result is a user-friendly handbag mag packed with essential beauty info in the May edition of Shape.
Results showed that Shape readers are brand savvy and aware of what's available locally as well as internationally. Reader favourite brands included Revlon, Clinique, Nivea, and South African brand Environ.
