Special award for Health Minister
PRETORIA: In recognition of his contribution to healthcare and medical education, Health Minister Dr Aaron Motsoaledi will on Monday receive a special award from the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
The Special Annual Appreciation Award will be presented to Dr Motsoaledi by His Highness Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, the Ruler of Ajman and UAE Supreme Council member during the 6th Annual Convocation ceremony to be held at the Gulf Medical University.
Dr Motsoaledi, who jetted off to UAE on Saturday, is expected to meet with his counterpart HE Dr Hanif Hassan to discuss issues of mutual interest between the two countries.
Diplomatic relations between the two countries were established in 1994 followed by South Africa opening an embassy in Abu Dhabi in 1995.
