Support Mzansi Rise up #StopRape on YouTube
"We have decided to take action together and rise up to be the voice of the voiceless. As a child whose been admirably brought up by a single mom, it is my duty as a man to lead by an example and instil in other men's minds, that women are the cornerstone of our ethical upbringing and they need to be protected, loved, respected, acknowledged and appreciated in our different societies at all times," says Maqetuka.
Maqetuka, a young creative motion picture producer/director has teamed-up with Homebrew Films to produce an inspiring and galvanising 37 seconds PSA. Other role-players that made the film possible include the 15 On Orange Hotel, for shoot location & catering, Costume Hire Company, with public figures' attire and Shoot Online Photography for on set stills.
An appeal to citizens
The concept illustrates that men's' physical strength is not meant for hurting, their fame and popularity in society should not lead them to take an advantage of young and vulnerable women, their high positions in the workplace should not serve as way to get sexual favours from women and emotional abuse from men is not welcomed in our lifetime. Above all, it is an appeal to all citizens to take ownership of their country and make it a better place for everyone who lives in it.
"We hope that social media outlets will share the link and that the local and mainstream TV broadcasters will be in a position to airplay this TV PSA so that it can reach out to every home in South Africa," concludes Maqetuka.
The PSA is currently on YouTube under the Zane Maqetuka channel:
