C Durbs 4 yrself

The award winning 'art for the city' campaign created by Net#work BBDO for its client, Cell C, launches in Durban today. The urban landscape of Durban's CBD will become a giant canvas for local artists, with a total of 11 artworks ranging from paintings, basketry, beadwork and crafts, enlarged and mounted onto the buildings.

Adding to the transformation of the city, massive Cell C logos will be the façade on 16 buildings in the Durban CBD

Net#work BBDO's Deputy Creative Director, Julian Watts comments: "It has been great to see how excited the artists have been about creating work that will transform their city. Changing the city from dull, grey and lifeless buildings to colourful works of art, is extremely rewarding."

The campaign was first launched in Johannesburg in August 2002, where the total space used was equivalent to 329 rugby fields. This same campaign was launched in Cape Town in December 2003 at the V&A Waterfront.
