Cookies to celebrate 20 years of Children's Hospital Trust
As a fundraiser for the Red Cross War Memorial Children's Hospital
The Children's Hospital Trust was founded in 1994 as the independent fundraising arm of the Red Cross War Memorial Children's Hospital in Cape Town, when the Hospital was threatened with closure due to a lack of funding. Since its inception, the trust has supported the hospital through upgrading its buildings, purchasing vital equipment and funding critical training and research programmes.
When Cape Cookies learnt of the anniversary, they wanted to do something to mark the occasion and give back to the community. Their donation will allow the trust to offer its guests and dedicated nurses sweet treats during upcoming trust events taking place throughout the year.
"It meant so much to the entire team from Cape Cookies to be able to contribute in some way by acknowledging the amazing work of the trust. As a parent, it is particularly rewarding to be involved with an organisation such as the Red Cross hospital, as it brings hope to many families in times of need," said Cape Cookies CEO Rob Packham.
