Siri - iPhone user's clever little helper

Siri is the iPhone's robotic helper and while she will politely decline an offer of marriage, if you ask her how to dispose of a body she will suggest a couple of useful places such as a reservoir, a swamp or a rubbish dump.

IOL says the application is actually "an intelligent personal assistant" that aims to provide answers to many everyday questions. So if you say that you have had too much to drink, then the application provides a list of local taxi companies.

If you try proclaiming your love to the phone, one of the responses that is returned is "I hope you don't say that to those other mobile phones" or, in another instance "All you need is love and your iPhone".

The iPhone 4S marks the debut of this new application that has been developed after years of research aimed at making computers more intuitive at understanding and working with people.

It is designed to understand the context of the questions that people ask and interpret it to provide an appropriate response.
