MTN will bring the SAMAs to the fans

MTN "will make use of our innovative and interactive platforms through MTN Play to give local music fans the real SAMA17 experience," according to Natasha Basson, acting GM: brand and communications of MTN South Africa.

Once again MTN will host the Ultimate Record of the Year Competition. Fans will be able to vote for the Record of the Year by SMSing the corresponding artist's code to +27 (0)83 123 SAMA (7276) to stand the chance to win a VIP experience on award night. Fans are encouraged to go to www.mtn.co.za/sama and click on the MTN Play link to download SAMA content and stand a chance to win more prizes.

Yellow carpet treatment

Everyone attending the main SAMA event on Saturday, 21 May, 2011, will have the opportunity to experience the Yellow Carpet and interact with their favourite celebrities. Guests who are photographed by MTN Play hosts can view their photographs on the MTN Play website and have the opportunity to experience MTN product and service offerings via iPads in the VIP area before the doors open for the main event.

This year MTN is also taking the SAMA17 experience to the fans by hosting road shows in Mpumalanga, Limpopo, Durban and Johannesburg to promote the Ultimate Record of the Year Competition and its MTN Muziq platform. The road shows will feature local SAMA17 nominees, giving fans the opportunity to get up close and personal with their favourite artists.
