Mother's Day special at the Mont Rochelle Hotel & Mountain Vineyards
The five-star Mont Rochelle Hotel & Mountain Vineyards, Franschhoek, is offering two distinct Mother's Day experiences on Sunday, 8 May, 2011. A three-course set menu lunch or a lighter three-course set menu lunch served al fresco in the cellar door restaurant, the Country Kitchen.
At the Country Kitchen chef Joslin Hawker will dish up a culinary feast starting with cured Franschhoek trout, apples, micro greens and beetroot gazpacho, followed by roast pork neck and roasted turkey with seasonal vegetables and roast potatoes, followed by a blueberry compote (R220 per person).
Providing the perfect opportunity to be spoiled with a taste of traditional French cooking with a contemporary twist, the three-course set Mother's Day lunch menu at Mange Tout (R250 per person) will feature exotic mushroom risotto with parmesan emulsion and toasted pine kernels, followed by roasted lemon and thyme baby chicken with roast potatoes and seasonal vegetables, and concluding with tiramisu dessert with mascarpone mousse, coffee and savoiardi ice cream.
Mont Rochelle's selection of "food" wines produced on the farm, and including the latest vintages: Mont Rochelle Reserve Sauvignon Blanc 2010, Mont Rochelle Merlot 2005 and its flagship Mont Rochelle Syrah 2006, will be available on Mother's Day.
