BestCities'Client Workshop comes to Cape Town
It has been announced that the Cape Town and Western Cape Convention Bureau is to host this year's BestCities annual Client Workshop, which will be held from 8-10 December 2014, at the Westin Hotel, Cape Town. The Client Workshop will feature representatives of 22 international associations from a range of market sectors including: pharmaceutical, medical, science, academia and technology.

According to BestCities Board Chairman, Karen Bolinger, the Client Workshop has proved to be one of the most successful services offered by the alliance for both meeting planner and partner bureau.
"The Client Workshop is very much our signature event as it enables clients to gain a unique insight into BestCities as well as the destination. All partners share their top clients list and extend a personal invitation to each of the selected association executives.
"The hosting partner showcases its city, conference facilities and business acumen to a handpicked audience and all 10 BestCities partners have the chance to build a stronger relationship with meeting planners they may not have had the opportunity to meet on their own," said Bolinger.
A good year
According to Corne Koch, Head of the Cape Town & Western Cape Convention Bureau, a division of Wesgro - the official tourism, trade and investment promotion agency for Cape Town and the Western Cape - the province has experienced a good year, highlighting its appeal as a competitive business events destination.
"The Cape Town and Western Cape Convention Bureau has successfully secured a number of bids in our current fiscal with 11 bid wins thus far, realising an estimated economic impact of R178,220,000 with an estimated delegate attendance of R13,450," said Koch.
"We are delighted to showcase our beautiful province to representatives from our international associations and are excited to open our doors to international meeting professionals through the Client Workshop," she added.
Guests will be given a spectacular welcome on top of Table Mountain before the official schedule gets underway at the Cape Town International Convention Centre. The two-day programme includes one-on-one meetings with all 10 BestCities convention bureaux followed by the Client Forum, which will be delivered by Sherrif Karamat COO of PCMA in conjunction with Karen Bolinger.
