A worldwide reunion

South Africa's premier reuniting website, www.SAReunited.com, celebrates its second anniversary this month with close on a quarter of a million members, 35 220 schools, universities and colleges, and 31 698 cities and towns listed, as well as a brand new look.

Founded by three South Africans based in London and Cape Town, former advertising executive Amanda Tsinonis, Nick Tsinonis and Themi Stergianos, have recently redesigned the site to offer new functions and an even more user-friendly home page.

"South Africans are big on reuniting, and one of our new functions allows members to post their school reunion details with the info going out to those in the same school year to advise them of the venue. It means even more members have the opportunity to rekindle old friendships."

The website is as popular at home as it is abroad. The top 10 cities are (in order of signed up members): Johannesburg (36 872 members), Cape Town (30 004 members), London (21 184 members), Pretoria (19 705 members), Durban (12 682 members), Sydney (4 751 members), Port Elizabeth (4 386 members), Roodepoort (3 839 members), Auckland (3 380 members), and Kempton Park (2 807 members).

Membership is evenly split between those in South Africa and those living overseas. Registration is free at www.SAReunited.com where members can search to see which of their friends have signed on. If they want to get in touch there's an annual Standard membership of R85, with a Premier Membership option at R120. The latter offers a wider search facility that allows members to refine their search to include which ex-school pupils are now living in specific cities around the world.
